The fun doesn't stop there! Join us for the Chemin Neuf Mardi Gras Festival, a vibrant celebration of culture and community, also taking place on March 1, 2025. This all-day event will highlight the rich history of Mardi Gras in New Roads with engaging activities, including a choir performance, historical presentations, and the Sweet Pecan Challenge. Enjoy live music from talented local bands while indulging in delicious food from vendors. The festival aims to bring together families and friends for a fun, educational experience, all while supporting the Pointe Coupee Health Services Foundation in its mission to enhance diabetes education and prevention.

D-D Breaux is a celebrated former head coach of the LSU Tigers gymnastics team, recognized for her significant contributions to collegiate gymnastics. Under her leadership, the team achieved multiple SEC championships and high national rankings, leaving a lasting legacy in the sport.

General Russell Honore is a retired U.S. Army General known for his leadership during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, where he oversaw military relief efforts. He has strong ties to Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, reflecting his deep roots and commitment to community resilience and disaster preparedness.
Dr. Louis Montelaro
Medical Honoree
Grand Marshal
Dr. Louis Montelaro, MD, is a Family Practitioner and Kid Med provider with a background in military medicine. After completing his internship in Shreveport, Louisiana, he served as a flight surgeon during the Vietnam War and has been practicing medicine since March of 1971.
